QNTM Day Wrap — July 15, 2026

QNTM's 50-stock model portfolio slipped -0.84% today while SPY gained +0.34%, a roughly 1.2-point miss. With only 50 concentrated names versus a 1,000-stock scored universe (conviction 53.9, 16.1% high-conviction), single-name drag matters — and today it did.

What drove it: Broad tech led the tape, but not evenly. Arista Networks lost $15.4 billion in market cap as insider selling by CEO Jayshree Ullal and other executives pressured the stock, dropping 6.6% intraday on valuation concerns despite bullish analyst commentary. Meanwhile investors rotated out of chipmakers and into mega-cap tech — Amazon, Microsoft, Alphabet and Apple rallied while Micron fell 7%, Lam Research dropped over 4%, and Intel and AMD slid 5% and 3% . A model tilted toward momentum/AI-infrastructure names likely absorbed both the Arista-specific hit and the semiconductor rotation, offsetting gains elsewhere in the book.

Market recap: The S&P 500 rose to 7,574, up 0.40%, as US stock indices rose amid signs that the war in Iran has not been as inflationary as feared . June PPI slowed more than expected, echoing cooler CPI data that showed the largest single-month inflation decline since April
